Lost Ark Battle Circuit – 6.11.16

A new ST find hidden in down in Greensboro, North Carolina!

Footage from Lost Ark Battle Circuit held at Lost Ark Videogames in Greensboro, NC. Streams of the ST events can be seen at: https://www.twitch.tv/lost_ark_video_games

Info about the Lost Ark Battle Circuit:

The Battle Circuit is a fighting game tournament series unlike anything previously held at Lost Ark. Four games will be featured and a tournament will be held for each game every month; the same game will appear on the same Saturday each month. This will culminate in a qualifier-only tournament in January 2017: “The Lost Ark Cup.” The Lost Ark Cup will feature the largest prize support we have ever offered, including full sponsorship to EVO (2017) and cash prizes as high as $1000.

Starting FEBRUARY 2016, Lost Ark tournaments will exclusively feature the following four games:

1st Saturday: Guilty Gear Xrd (SIGN then Revelator upon release)
2nd Saturday: Super Street Fighter II Turbo
3rd Saturday: Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike
4th Saturday: Street Fighter V

These games have been chosen for their sustained interest among the regular Lost Ark players and among players around NC. If your favorite game is not represented, come out and encourage support for your game!

– TOURNAMENT LAYOUT –

There will be two types of tournaments: Ranbats (or ranking battles) and cash pot/cash prize tournaments.
Ranbats will be FREE to enter (with arcade admission) and will award ranking points to determine seeding in the cash pot/cash prize tournaments. Ranbats will not have prizes beyond seeding/qualifier points. Pot entry tournaments will have a cash BUY-IN and a cash payouts.

Cash POT/ Cash Prize tournaments will be held every 4th month (April/August/December). The entry fee for the pot will vary by game (typically $5-10). The three preceding tournaments will be RANBATS, which determine player seeding for that tournament. Ranking points will be distributed according to the number of entries and WILL RESET AFTER EVERY CASH PRIZE TOURNAMENT.
Placing ties will award both players the same amount of points.

If 10 people enter:
1st – 10 points
2nd – 9 points
etc.

– LOST ARK CUP –

By earning points in ranbat events and by winning cash prize tournaments, players can earn entry in the Lost Ark Cup: a 12-man (16 for SFV) qualifier-only tournament in January 2017.

Because of the effort required to simply participate in this event, the prizes on offer will be the largest ever awarded for a Lost Ark event. All qualifiers will receive prizes of some kind. The grand prize for the winner of this event is as follows:

SSFIIT and THIRD STRIKE
A check for $1,000. Yes, you read it right: 1K.

Full details about the Lost Ark Cup.

HOW TO QUALIFY:

The top 3 ranked players in RANBAT ranking points at the end of every three month period will QUALIFY for the Lost Ark Cup.

The WINNER of every pot tournament will also qualify. (WINNER and RUNNER-UP for SFV)

IF SOMEONE HAS ALREADY QUALIFIED, THE SPOT WILL GO TO THE NEXT ELIGIBLE PLAYER.
